Texila American University Consortium (TAU-L), located in Hong Kong, is the Holding Company for Educational Ventures, including Texila American University Guyana (TAU-G), Texila American University Zambia (TAU–Z), Texila American University UAE and Texila e-Learning.

Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation is the largest hospital in Guyana. It is a government-run hospital with more than 25 years of experience in training the doctors and has over 600 beds and additional 400 bedded clinical facilities available for the student training throughout the country. The hospital is equipped with the all the modern amenities to render the first class healthcare.

New Amsterdam Hospital

New Amsterdam Hospital, Guyana is an outstanding example of timber architecture, and one of the two surviving architectural masterpieces. Construction commenced in late 1881 with funds provided to the Public Works Department by the colonial administration. The hospital was designed by Cesar C a s t e l l a n i , a n a r c h i t e c t employed in Public Works Department of British Guyana.

West Demerara Regional Hospita

West Demerara Regional Hospital( WDRH) is a 262 bedded hospital that serves as the referral hospital in Region Three, offering medical service to thousands of people residing on the West Coast, West Bank. MD – USA Track /American MD

MD – USA Track/American MD Program is designed in such a way that the Premedical and Preclinical will be pursued in the Guyana campus and Clinical Rotations will be pursued in the Affiliated Hospitals in USA. The Students will be simultaneously trained for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) to acquire Residency matches in the United States. The curriculum is strictly based on USA Medical Schools that allows the graduates to be competitive candidates for residency placements.

Securing quality clinical rotations within the United States is extremely difficult as far as internationally trained physicians and international medical students are concerned. Through such clinical rotations, students become familiar with the U. S. healthcare system. United Nations Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)

Students in the American track are given training for the USA clinical requirements and residency – USMLE (United States Medical Licensure Examination). TAU offers USMLE training with experienced faculties and in partnership with Kaplan and Firecracker.

The graduates of Texila American University who intend to apply for Residency in the USA/Canada are required to write and clear the USMLE Step 1, 2 & 3 Exams, which are administered by Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the United States. The medical graduates who study in the universities located in the United States are also required to take the USMLE Exams.

Our Program is designed for USMLE Preparation and success. The curriculum is designed to incorporate USMLE style questions and exams. This intensive preparation ensure Students’ Success. Our Students have applied for various USMLE Steps upon clearing the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Texila American University (TAU) hosted its Second Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, 25th November 2015 at the Princess Hotel in Guyana. After the years of sacrifice and hard work, a total number of thirty-seven (37) students were graduated from the University – an important milestone in the History of TAU. The Chief Guest of the event was the Honourable Prime Minister of Guyana Dr. Moses Veerasammy Nagamootoo.

Third Graduation Ceremony

Texila American University hosted its 3rd Graduation Ceremony with the Motto “TAU Graduates going beyond the challenges of change through Quality Education” on 10th December 2016 to roll out the successful batch of Healthcare Professionals. Thirty-Five (35) Students from Guyana, Nigeria, India, South Africa, Uganda, Canada & Syrian Arab Republic were graduated from the University as Doctors and Nurses to serve the community. The Chief Guest of the event was the Honourable Prime Minister of Guyana Dr. Moses Veerasammy Nagamootoo. A Special Leadership Award was presented to the Honourable President of Guyana, Dr. David A. Granger on behalf of the Prime Minister.
